# Dashboard

> Your nOps home: account-wide spend, pinned charts, Account Status, and Ask Clara.

## Overview

The **dashboard** is your home page in nOps. From here you can:

* **Check All Spend** — account-wide spend for the last 30 days, with yesterday and month-to-date comparisons.
* **See Pinned widgets** — the chart widgets and Explorer reports your team keeps visible without opening each canvas or report.
* **Check Account Status** — whether your AWS, GCP, and Azure integrations are connected and healthy.
* **Ask Clara** from a floating entry point when you want help from home.

***

## All Spend

The **All Spend** section shows account-wide spend for the last 30 days, alongside yesterday and month-to-date comparisons, so you get a pulse on spend the moment you land on the dashboard.

Click **Open Explorer** to drill into any of these numbers by service, account, tag, or other dimensions.

<Note>
  This section only appears once at least one cloud integration is active. Before that, you'll see a prompt to connect your first cloud account.

## Pinned widgets

The **Pinned widgets** section is where your team keeps the metrics everyone checks often. You can pin two kinds of things here:

* **Canvas charts** — a chart widget from a shared canvas
* **Explorer reports** — a saved **Shared** or **nOps Global** [Explorer report](/inform/reports)

Pins are **shared across the organization** — anyone on the dashboard sees the same set (within their permissions).

On wider layouts, canvas chart pins show in a **2×2 grid** (up to **four** per page); Explorer report pins always use the full row width. On very narrow screens you may see **two** pins per page in a single column. Use the **page** controls when you have more pins than fit on the current page.

If your pins come from more than one cloud provider, filter chips (**All**, **AWS**, **GCP**, **Azure**) appear above the section so you can narrow the strip to one provider — chips only show up when there is at least one pin to filter and more than one provider represented.

Click **Browse all canvases** below the pinned widgets to open [Canvas](/clara/canvas) and see everything your organization has built.

### Why pin something?

Pinning puts the chart or report **on the home page** so you do not have to open the full canvas or the Explorer report every morning. Reorder pins so the metrics you care about most show up **first** and on the **first page** when you have many pins.

### Add a pin

<Steps>
  <Step title="Pick your source">
    Open a **shared** canvas for a chart, or open a saved report in [Explorer](/inform/explorer).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick a chart widget, or a saved report">
    For a canvas, hover the chart’s header and click the **pin** control (arrow-in-box icon). For a report, open it in Explorer and use the **pin** icon next to a **Shared** or **nOps Global** report in **Manage Reports**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm">
    Confirm in the dialog. The chart or report appears in **Pinned widgets** for your organization.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  Only reports set to **Shared** or **nOps Global** can be pinned. Change a report to **Private** and it is automatically removed from **Pinned widgets**.
</Note>

### See fresh numbers (refresh)

* **On page load:** pinned charts and reports load their latest saved numbers each time you open or reload the Dashboard.
* **Your own refresh:** if you have **edit** access to the source canvas, use **Refresh chart data** on the pin (circular arrows) to pull the latest query right away without reloading the page.
* **Explorer report pins** always show live numbers when the page loads — there is no separate refresh button for these.

If a chart looks empty after a refresh, open the **Canvas** link on the pin to check filters and data on the parent board.

### Change the order (reorder)

Put the charts you open first at the top of the list:

* **Drag and drop** the pin cards to reorder when you have permission to manage pins and more than one pin. Grab the card and move it — the list saves for everyone.
* When you have **more pins than fit on one page** (for example, more than four on a wide layout), use the **page** controls next to the section title to move between pages. Order still follows your saved list.

<Tip>
  Reorder so the metrics you check daily land on **page 1** — fewer clicks for the whole team.
</Tip>

### Export and share

* **PDF (all pins):** use the **PDF** button in the **Pinned widgets** header to download **one PDF** that includes every pinned **chart widget**. If charts are still loading, wait for previews to finish. Explorer report pins and other unsupported pin types stay out of the PDF — the button explains when that happens.
* **Deep link:** copy the dashboard URL — teammates in your org see the same pinned strip.

To export a **single** chart as an image or PDF with full canvas options, open the source canvas with **Canvas** on the pin and use **Download Canvas** from the [canvas command palette](/clara/canvas#command-palette).

### Customize a pin

A canvas chart pin shows the same **Chart settings** (colors, legend, title, and more) that were saved on the source widget at the time it was pinned. To change how the chart looks, edit the widget on the source canvas — the pin picks up the update the next time it loads.

Explorer report pins always show the report's saved date range, filters, and grouping. Open the report in Explorer to change those.

### Remove a pin

Click **unpin** on the card (pin-off icon) and confirm. The source chart or report is unchanged; it is only removed from the home page strip.

### Limits and roles

* **Maximum 25** pins for the organization, shared between canvas charts and Explorer reports. Remove one to add another.
* **Who can pin:** admins (and roles your organization treats as pin managers) add and remove pins and reorder. Others can **view** pins, and can **refresh** canvas chart pins if they can edit the underlying canvas.

## Ask Clara from the dashboard

Click **Ask Clara** in the bottom-right corner. Clara opens in a floating panel so you can ask questions about your spend while you scan the dashboard — see [Ask Clara](/clara/clara-chat) for more.

***

## Account Status

The **Account Status** section shows whether your AWS, GCP, and Azure integrations are connected and healthy — visible to every member of your organization, regardless of role.

| Provider  | What you see                                       |
| --------- | -------------------------------------------------- |
| **AWS** | Account status, linked billing accounts, last sync |
| **GCP** | Billing status, CUD sharing hints, last sync |
| **Azure** | Subscription status, export progress, last sync |

Click **Manage Integrations** to open Settings and connect or troubleshoot an integration, or use **Check Connectivity** on an individual card to re-verify permissions without leaving the dashboard.

***

## Playground and guided exploration

Some organizations use a **Playground** experience: sample data and templates so you can click around without a full cloud onboarding.

When you first land in Playground, a welcome tour may highlight templates and canvases to get you oriented. If you dismiss it and want it back later, open [Canvas](/clara/canvas) and use **Quick guide** from the sidebar to reopen the tour.

***

## Permissions

* **Everyone** in the organization can open the dashboard and see shared content they are allowed to access.
* **Admins** (and delegated roles) manage **pins** and **integrations**.
* **Regular members** can view pins and canvases they can access; pinning may be limited by role.

***

## Troubleshooting

### Pinned chart shows no data

* Confirm the parent canvas is still **shared** with you.
* Check the data source has recent ingest.
* Use **Refresh chart data** on the pin, or open **Canvas** to inspect filters.

### Cannot pin

* Only **chart** widgets, and Explorer reports set to **Shared** or **nOps Global**, qualify. Private reports cannot be pinned.
* You may be at the **25 pin** cap (canvas charts and Explorer reports combined) — remove a pin first.
* You need permission to **manage dashboard pins**.

### Pin disappeared

* Pins persist — if a canvas chart pin vanishes, the widget may have been **deleted** on the canvas or the canvas **unshared**. If an Explorer report pin vanishes, the report may have been **deleted** or changed to **Private**.
* Try a hard reload: <kbd>Cmd</kbd>+<kbd>Shift</kbd>+<kbd>R</kbd> (Mac) or <kbd>Ctrl</kbd>+<kbd>Shift</kbd>+<kbd>R</kbd> (Windows / Linux).
