Pre-Built & Customizable Reports for nOps Business Contexts+
FAQs
Expand FAQs
1. How can I use "Group by" in pre-built reports to uncover trends?
The Group by feature lets you segment costs by dimensions such as Purchase Type, Region Name, or Product Services Subtype. For example, in the Compute Purchase Type report, grouping by Purchase Type helps identify which instances (On-Demand, Reserved, Spot) are contributing most to costs, revealing optimization opportunities.
2. How does nOps handle shared vs unshared custom reports across the organization?
Reports under the Shared tab are visible and accessible to all users in the organization, promoting collaboration and transparency. Private reports, however, remain restricted to the creator unless explicitly duplicated or shared through a URL.
3. What role does report granularity play in analyzing costs?
Granularity defines the level of detail displayed in the report. For instance, hourly granularity is useful for identifying peak usage periods in a day, while monthly granularity highlights long-term trends. Choosing the right granularity helps balance detail with a clear view of cost patterns.
4. What types of pre-built reports are best suited for optimizing data transfer costs?
Reports such as NAT Gateway - Data, Public IPv4, and Data Transfer Service provide detailed insights into data transfer costs. These reports help identify which regions, operations, or services are driving high transfer expenses and enable data optimization strategies.
5. How can saved reports help track ongoing cloud optimization efforts?
Saved reports allow teams to monitor specific KPIs and trends over time. By automating report delivery to key stakeholders, users can continuously track optimization progress, ensuring accountability and proactive management of cloud spending.
