Filters in Cost Analysis
FAQs
Expand FAQs
1. What types of date ranges can I filter by in Cost Analysis?
You can filter by both custom dates and predefined presets such as:
- 1D (Yesterday)
- 7D (Last 7 days)
- MTD (Month-to-date)
- 1M (Previous full month)
- YTD (Year-to-date)
These presets help quickly analyze recent trends without manually setting dates.
2. How do I filter by tags or labels?
Use the Tags or Cost Allocation Tags filter to select key-value pairs. You can apply filtering logic such as:
- OR: Show results that match any of the selected conditions.
- AND: Show results that match all selected conditions.
Expand each key to filter by specific values within it.
3. What is the difference between "Usage" and "Normalized Usage" charts?
- Usage shows the absolute consumption of resources.
- Normalized Usage adjusts values to enable easy comparison across different dimensions, helping visualize trends in a more balanced way.
4. Can I combine multiple filters in Cost Analysis?
Yes, you can combine filters (e.g., date range, cost type, and tags) to create custom data views. However, AND and OR logic cannot be mixed within the same filter.
5. How do I clear applied filters?
- Click the Clear All button to remove all filters at once.
- To clear an individual filter, click the red Clear button next to its name. This resets that specific filter without affecting others.
Filters enable users to narrow down and analyze specific data points, providing precise insights into cloud costs. This document explains the functionality of filters, how to use them, and their role in optimizing cost analysis.
