Solution Provider User Management
What is a Solution Provider?
A Solution Provider is a concept that enables users to view consolidated data from multiple client accounts in one place. For instance, if your company has clients using nOps.io, the Solution Provider feature al ows you to access their data without logging into each client’s account individually. This streamlines the process by providing a centralized platform for managing client information.
Getting Started with Solution Provider
To create a Solution Provider, contact nOps.io (support@nops.io) with a request. Our team will set up the Solution Provider for you, granting access to the Solution Provider Portal via the nOps platform. Detailed instructions for accessing the portal can be found here.
Only authorized users can access the Solution Provider Portal.
Authorized Users
Where to Find the List of Authorized Users
You can view the list of authorized users in the Solution Provider Portal under Settings ➡️ Users. Access the Settings page from the main account menu, located on the right side of the application’s header.
Becoming an Authorized User
To become an authorized user, you must be invited by a Solution Provider Admin.
There are two roles for authorized users:
- Admin: Has full permissions, including inviting new users, changing roles, removing users, and requesting client data.
- Viewer: Can view al available data, the list of clients, and authorized users, but cannot perform actions. A viewer can leave the Solution Provider if desired
Each Solution Provider must have at least one active Admin.
Inviting Users to a Solution Provider
Admins can invite users through the Settings ➡️ Users page by clicking the “Invite User” button at the top right. This generates an invitation link that can be shared with the user.
-
If the user has an nOps account, clicking the link will redirect them to the Solution Provider Portal, with a notification confirming their addition.
-
If the user does not have an account, they will be directed to the Sign-Up page. After creating an account, they will be redirected to the portal with the same notification.
-
If the user is logged out, they will first be redirected to the Sign-In page and then to the portal.
Membership in Multiple Solution Providers
Although uncommon, users can belong to multiple Solution Providers, with different roles in each. For example, a user can be an Admin in one Solution Provider and a Viewer in another.
To switch between Solution Providers, use the “Switch Solution Provider” option in the main account menu. A modal will display al Solution Providers the user belongs to, al owing them to select the desired one.
Accessing Client Data
The primary goal of the Solution Provider is to al ow users to view consolidated client data. To achieve this, Admins can request access to client data:
-
Navigate to Settings ➡️ Clients and click the “Request Clients Data” button.
-
Enter the client admin’s email and send the request.
The client admin will receive an email with a link to grant access. Upon approval, the Solution Provider will gain access to the client’s data, and the client will see a confirmation message.
Only client admins can approve data-sharing requests.
Managing Client Data
Admins of Multiple Clients
If a client admin manages several accounts, the email will list al associated clients. The admin can select which clients to share data from by clicking the “Grant Access” link next to each client.
Revoking Shared Data
If data from the wrong client is accidentally shared, the client admin can:
-
Log in to the nOps platform under the affected client account.
-
Navigate to Organization Settings ➡️ Solution Providers.
-
Find the Solution Provider and click “Leave Solution Provider” to stop sharing data.
This action will immediately remove the client’s data from the Solution Provider.
