- An Admin API key with read-only permissions for billing data
- nOps organization administrator access
Only admins and owners can connect, re-validate, or disconnect. Members see Admin Only on connectable cards.

- Sign in to the OpenAI platform.
- Open Admin API keys.
- Click Create new Admin Key.
- Enter a descriptive name (for example
nOps Integration). - Select Read-only permissions and click Create admin key.
- Copy the Admin API key immediately — it is shown only once.
Connect in nOps
Where to open OpenAI
- To connect for the first time — go to Settings → Integrations and click the OpenAI card.
- To manage an existing connection — go to Settings → Account Status → Connected apps and click the OpenAI chip to re-validate or disconnect.
Connect steps
- Click the OpenAI card or chip.
- Enter an API key name (for example
Production OpenAI) and paste the Admin API key. - Click Connect.
Manage your connection
Use Re-validate to check stored credentials without re-entering them, or Disconnect to remove them. Action required usually means a revoked, expired, or non-admin key — create a new Admin API key in OpenAI and connect again.Troubleshooting
- Invalid key — use an Admin API key with read-only billing access, not a standard project API key.
- No data — allow up to 24 hours for initial sync; confirm billing activity in OpenAI.
- Multiple accounts — use distinct API key name values if you connect more than one OpenAI organization over time.
